Abstract

1,148,320. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 11 May, 1966 [21 May, 1965], No. 20822/66. Heading H4A. A planar log-periodic aerial has a reflector comprising elements which resonate at different frequencies spaced over the working frequency band. As described, an aerial 1, Fig. 5, is backed by a reflector 2<SP>1</SP>, which may have either of the shapes shown in Fig. 4. This reflector is bent into a V-form, and it may lie substantially on a conical surface, its apex being placed adjacent the centre of the aerial. Power is fed by a cable FC, and the main direction of radiation is perpendicular to the plane of the aerial and away from the reflector. It is stated that good results have been obtained over a 10: 1 frequency range, and that the arrangement is particularly suitable for use on rockets and aircraft.
