1353227 Combined buff and draught gear for railway vehicle-couplings GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT 3 Aug 1971 36485/71 Heading B7T A combined buff and draw gear for railway vehicle couplings comprises a telescopic housing members 16, 4<SP>1</SP> in which are located pre-stressed concentric springs 6, 7, the inner spring 7 being located between an inner base-plate 11, centrally located within an end cap 9, and a stepped bearing plate 5<SP>1</SP>, and the outer spring located between cap 9, which can slide on an extension 11<SP>1</SP> of plate 11, and the plate 5<SP>1</SP>, there being a rod 20 extending between plate 11 and a cup 5 of plate 51 with the plate 5<SP>1</SP> abutting the end 4 of housing member 4<SP>1</SP> which in turn abuts a pressure plate 3, wherein in use under buff conditions the rear end 2 of the coupling arm 1, which is mounted on a bolt 13, compresses the springs via plate 3, member 4<SP>1</SP> and plate 5<SP>1</SP> until plate 3 contacts stops 12, and under draw conditions housing member 16 moves forwardly compressing spring 6 until surfaces 19 abut stops 18.
