Abstract

1310395 Combined buff and draw gear GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT 15 Oct 1970 49058/70 Heading B7T Rail vehicle combined buff and draw gear comprises a housing 1 to the end 2 of which is pivoted a coupling shank 17, a first prestressed spring 7 being located between a step 5<SP>1</SP> of a neck 5 and an inward flange 30 of a sleeve 9, and a second pre-stressed spring 8 being located between a connecting piece 31 and a spring plate 10 connected to neck 5 by a bolt 14, the gear under buff having the two springs compressed when the end 20 of shank 17 contacts plate 12, compression of spring 7 ceasing when housing end 3 contacts stop 6 and compression of spring 8 ceasing when the ends 24 of guide 11 contact the end 23 of connecting piece 31. The connection 4 between housing 1 and piece 31 is of the sliding bayonet type. Under draw only spring 8 is compressed and this action ceases when the end 2 of the housing contacts stops 21. The springs 8 and 7 may have their prestressing altered by adjusting nuts 15 and 16. In a modification the housing is connected directly to the sleeve 9 and the pivot pin 19 can slide in a slot in the end 2 of housing 1.
