Abstract

1379155 Rail vehicle combined buff and draw gear GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT 19 April 1972 18158/72 Heading B7T Rail vehicle combined buff and draw gear comprises a housing 19, a coupler arm 2 pivoted on a pin 3 to the housing, a main spring assembly 6 within the housing and bearing via the end 15 of a tube 15<SP>1</SP> on a pressure plate 8, and a plunger 7 extending through the plate, which plunger is acted on by a spring assembly 10 to spring load the clearance between the rear end 1 of arm 2 and the forward face of plate 8. The assembly 10 is located within the forward one of a pair of pre-stressing cups 5, 5 of the assembly 6 connected by rod 13, and is retained between a plate 12 located on the rod and a further pre-stressing cup 11. The plunger is formed with a shoulder 9 which abuts plate 8 and a guide tube 18 which extends into cup 5.
