Abstract

1353184 Pivoted propeller shaft S W HARRIS 30 April 1971 12564/71 Headings B7A B7S and B7V In a water craft 13 having an inboard propulsion unit of which the power take-off shaft 24 is connected to outboard propeller shaft 19, the propeller shaft assembly includes a body 10 secured to a bracket 12 mounted outboard of the stern of the craft. The body supports the propeller shaft which is pivotally connected to the power take-off shaft and the body and propeller shaft are movable between a lower normal operative position in which the propeller blade 21 and rudder 22 extend below keel level and a raised retracted operative position in which they are above keel level. The assembly includes a guard 20 extending below the depths of the propeller blade and rudder. Figs. 5A and 5B show one form of the pivotal connection between the two shafts.
