Abstract

1,027,385. Boats and boat propulsion. M. NATHANSON. May 8, 1964 [April 20, 1963], No. 15669/63. Headings B7A and B7V. A boat substantially circular or a regular polygon of five or more sides, in plan view, has a motor 18 mounted on a sleeve 17 so that the driving shaft extends vertically through the bottom of the boat to drive the propeller 21 having its axis substantially horizontal, the motor with the driving shaft and its casing 23 and the propeller being rotatable by a steering wheel 22 about a vertical axis. A vane 24 is secured to the bottom 11 to act as a keel or fixed rudder or is pivotally mounted to act as a rudder, steering then being effected by combined operation of the hand wheel 22 and the pivoted vane.
