Abstract

1350855 Diffusion coating of nickel or cobalt alloy substrates CHROMALLOY AMERICAN CORP 27 June 1972 [6 July 1971] 29996/71 Heading C7F A Co or Ni substrate is coated by pack diffusion to give a coating comprising 15 to 40% Al and 5 to 50 Rh. The Rh may be included in the pack or applied first by electro-plating, sputtering, vapour deposition, painting powder suspensions or by decomposition of a rhodium compound. The pack may contain alumina, magnesia or zirconia and F, Cl, Br or I per se or as salts. The Rh coating may be diffused at e.g. 2100‹ F before the Al diffusion coating.
