Abstract

Addn. of sufficient NaCNS or other thiocyanate to the electrolyte for co-deposition of Ni and Fe increases the Ni:Fe ratio in the deposit. Anomalous deposition and variation in the Ni-fe alloy compsn. are thus inhibited without redn. of current and consequent increase in plating time. Paired films of this type on suitably masked metallised substrates can form the yokes of electromagnetic recording transducers.
