Abstract
1350034 Lasers COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'ELECTRICITE 28 June 1972 [1 July 1971] 30344/72 Heading H1C An electrode system for a gas laser comprises a sheet anode 2, a set of rectilinear sharp edged cathodes 3, a counter electrode 8 spaced from the cathodes by insulation 6 and at a positive potential with respect to the cathodes, and auxiliary insulated electrodes 9 which are capacitively coupled to the counter electrode by the insulating layer 6. The system gives uniform discharges transverse the optical axis 12 of the laser, due to the initial positive potential produced on the auxiliary electrodes by the coupling. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,279,948.
