Abstract

1349512 Propelling ships &c. T A ALLEN 22 July 1971 [24 April 1970] 19941/70 Headings B7A and B7V A boat is propelled by a pair of individually rotatable floats 18, 20 each provided with a multi-start vane 22, 24 (Fig. 2) or groove 43 (Fig. 5) and roller 41 are provided along the vanes or grooves to enable the boat to be propelled on land. Selection of the directions of rotation of the floats determines whether the boat travels forwards, sideways or astern. The floats are of fibreglass and may be filled with expanded polystyrene or polyurethane.
