Abstract
1345820 Dispersing mines from projectiles RHEINMETALL GmbH 2 Aug 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 36194/71 Heading F3A A spin-stabilized rocket or projectile comprises a cluster of stick-like mines 1 la which are expelled, in flight, from the tail end of the projectile and are scattered over a target area, the mines being releasably held together at their rear ends by suitable means, e.g., an encircling wire or steel band, a cover, or a plate 12 connected by pins 13, spot welds or adhesive to each of the mines. When the mines completely leave the confines of the projectile casing they swing outwardly at their front ends and separate from the securing means. A pin 10 and the screwthread of a plug 9 are sheared as the mines are expelled in response to the ignition of an ejection charge.
