594,517. Projectiles. BUHNEY, SIR C. D. Dec. 16, 1940, No. 7646/42. Divided. out of 594,514. [Class 9 (i)] A bomb intended to be dropped from aircraft, or any other bomb or projectile having a considerable length, for example one propelled by a rocket charge as described in Specification 594,514, is fitted with an armour piercing head 42 secured by a bolt 45 against a part spherical seat 43 at the front end of the rear part 2, the bolt 45 being adapted to shear on oblique impact, so that the rear part will not hamper the penetration of the target by the armour piercing head.
