Abstract

134,359. Fenton, H. Nov. 13, 1918. Openers.-In a rag-pulling machine, the whole of the air current which carries the fibres away along the conduit 3 is caused to flow through the enclosed space in which the swift 5 and roller 6 are situated. The fan is situated in the passage 3 or in connexion therewith, and all openings to the passage 3, except between the swift and the roller, are closed. One fan may serve several machines, the delivery passages being connected to one common conduit. The rags may be fed from a room above the machines through shoots. and the opened fibres may be transferred by the passage 3 to a receptacle outside the room in which the machines are situated.
