Abstract

599,947. Felt-conditioners of paper-making machines. VICKERYS, Ltd., and VICKERY, F. W. Sept. 25, 1945, No. 24846. [Class 96] In a felt-conditioner of a papermaking machine, having suction openings 27, 26 and 32, &c., blockages of waste material are cleared as bv water jets 38, 42 fed from the main water supply to the felt-cleaning jet 22. The conditioner illustrated reciprocates transversely of the travel of the felt F, and the supply to the jets 38, 42 is controlled by a valve normally closed by a spring 54 and opened. at each traverse by a cam surface 60<1> &c. Specifications 188,023, 263,594, [both in Class 96], 462,007, 481,825, [Group IV], 516,712 and 553,771 are referred to.
