Abstract
705,715. Supplying pulp to paper-making machines. VOITH GES., J. M. Sept. 6, 1951 [Sept. 11, 1950; Aug. 23, 1951], No. 21100/51. Class 96 Paper pulp from the refiners or screens &c. is delivered by pipes 1, 2, Figs. 1 and 3, to opposite ends of a mixing box 6 the pulp flowing along tapered passages 3, 4, and sidewise through gaps 23, 24 beneath, mid-way up, or at the top of partitions 21, 22 into a mixing compartment 5 at the top of which is a divergent conduit 7 leading to the wire-cloth of a Fourdrinier paper-making machine or to the vat of a cylinder mould machine. Air traps 15 with valves 16 may be provided, or there may be slots above 'the partitions 21, 22 for the passage of air. In modifications (1) the compartment 5 may contain a perforated flow-evener roll, and (2) the walls of the conduit 7 extend downwardly into the compartment 5.
