Abstract
1338714 Bleaching or bleach-fixing photographic silver halide material AGFAGEVAERT AG 11 Aug 1971 [20 Aug 1970] 37624/71 Heading G2C Colour photographic images are produced by colour developing an imagewise exposed photographic silver halide material and then bleaching and fixing or bleach-fixing, the bleaching or bleach-fixing being effected in the presence of an aromatic sulphohydrazide of the formula:- wherein R<SP>1</SP> is H, NO 2 or carboxyl and R<SP>2</SP> is H, halogen or alkyl or alkoxy having up to 3 carbon atoms. The bleach-fixing bath may contain 0À5-10g of the aromatic sulphohydrazide per litre, 100-200g of sodium or ammonium thiosulphate per litre and 1-5g of a white coupler per litre. The developed material may be treated with an aqueous solution of the aromatic sulphohydrazide before bleaching. These compounds are antifoggants and prevent the formation of bleach fog.
