Abstract
1337191 Cleaning tanks and swimming pools S ACCATINO 21 Jan 1971 2902/71 Heading A4F [Also in Division B1] A device for cleaning a tank or swimming pool containing liquid comprises a pump in corporated in a movable assembly for discharging liquid therefrom, the movable assembly being either floatable in the liquid in the tank or pool or adapted to be raised through the liquid by the force of reaction of the liquid discharged by the pump. A floatable assembly comprises a pump 5, Fig.1, mounted on a float 4 and delivering liquid via a semi-rigid pipe 9 and flexible discharge pipes 8 which are moved to and fro by the liquid flow and rub against the walls and flow of the tank or pool. The dislodged impurities are removed from the liquid in a filtering system. The pump 5 is electrically driven and is operated intermittently under the control of a programming unit. An alternative assembly M, Fig.2, incorporating a pump 13, sinks when the pump is not operating and rises when the pump discharges liquid downwardly through an opening 18. A casing 14 surrounding the pump 13 has liquid inlet openings 16 and a peripheral brush 15 for cleaning the walls of the tank or pool. Impurities in the liquid are trapped between the casing 14 and a filter 20 surrounding the pump inlet.
