Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce self-priming time for a pump by providing a water inlet at the top and an outlet at the bottom of a filter.
CONSTITUTION: A water inlet 20 is located at the top of a casing 1 whereas a water outlet is provided at the lower end of a manifold pipe 17. A quantity of water corresponding to the difference in water level between the upper end of a sediment reservoir 14 and lower end of the manifold 17 helps reduce time with which a pump is self-primed.
