Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize a water content of the sludge by connecting a pump for supplying a sewage containing the sludge to a precipitation tank and a pump for withdrawing the precipitated sludge to a same drive source to drive said pumps automatically and mutually corresponding to a sludge amount in the sewage.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge containing sewage A is supplied to the precipitation tank 1 by the supply pump 5 and the sludge B is successively precipitated to and accumulated on a bottom part thereof, and a supernatant liquid C is taken out through a collection port 4. The sludge B is discharged by the withdrawing pump 7 through a sludge withdrawing pipe 6. In this time, the supply pump 5 and the withdrawing pipe 7 are connected to the same drive source 8 and driven mutually for a time set corresponding to the preliminarily measured sludge amount in the sewage. Therefore, when the sludge is withdrawn, the inflow of the sewage is stopped and the whirl-up of the sludge due to the inflow of the sewage is not generated. Moreover, if the sludge amount in the sewage is changed, the setting time is altered.
