Abstract

1331507 Coaxial connectors BUNKER RAMO CORP 16 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 54489/70 Heading H2E A metal ferrule 28 comprising at least two ferrule segments 28 (Fig. 2) having a central bore 42 fits between the insulation 14 and second conductor 16 of a coaxial cable 10 (Fig. 1). The two parts of the ferrule have alignment holes 46 to receive pins 44 and channels 48A and 48B to accommodate a retaining ring 50. In use, the ferrule is wedged under the second conductor 16 by metal bush 20 and the sleeve 22 is crimped about the ferrule 28 and conductor 16, a threaded ring 24 being retained by the shoulders of the enlarged diameter ferrule port 30 to enable the crimped arrangement to be attached to the connector 19. The insulation 14 is cut back flush with the flat face 36A and 36B of the ferrule. The connector 19 may comprise an insulating disc 51, a plug terminal 52 being attached to the inner conductor 12 by solder through coil 54, an insulating bushing 62, a metal enclosure 56 and screw ring 64.
