1318621 Aerials LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS GmbH 9 Sept 1970 [22 Jan 1970] 43250/70 Heading H4A In a wideband folded monopole or dipole at least one cross-sectional dimension of the limbs is increased with distance from the feed point, and loading means, such as a capacitance, is provided between limbs. As described, an omni-directional turnstile aerial comprises four folded monopoles 11 to 14 which extend from a conductive ring 10 mounted on a mast 9. The monopole 11 comprises a grounded limb 5 (1) and a fed limb 4 (1), which are connected by a member 6 (1). The two limbs are each made progressively wider as they extend radially, and the connecting member 6 (1) projects beyond them. At the inner end of the limb 4 (1) there is a feed point 2 (1) and an enlarged part 15 provides capacitive loading to the limb 5 (1). Alternatively, dielectric material may be placed between the limbs. The monopoles 12, 13, 14 are similar to the monopole 11.
