Abstract
1387450 Aerials MARCONI CO Ltd 14 July 1972 32968/72 Heading H4A A dipole aerial arrangement is made from three-conductor stripline, the inner conductor 1 being turned in one direction to form a dipole arm 9, and the outer ground conductors 4, 5 being both turned in the opposite direction to form a dipole arm 8. The conductors may be air-spaced, or be separated by solid dielectric material. In the latter case, the inner conductor may be sandwiched between two strip-line boards, the outer ground plane conductors being provided on opposing outer surfaces of the sandwich. The conductors may be tapered over section 10 to achieve matching. A coaxial socket may be provided at the end of the stripline remote from the formed dipole, the outer conductors being connected to its body, and the inner conductor being connected to its central member.
