Abstract
1,034,761. Aerials. K. T. CRAMNER. Jan. 24, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 3231/64. Heading H4A. A wide band aerial consists of a rigid cylindrical body 24 having a metal netting sandwiched between two layers of plastics material such as dosed polyester resin reinforced by glass fibres, and a thin-walled metal cylinder 22 connected to the metal netting at the top portion 32 of the body 24 and supported at its metal base 20 to a recessed metal disc 14 which is supported in turn by a grounded support 10 of the aerial. The lower end of the body 24 is supported on an insulating disc 36 and is connected to the inner conductor of a coaxial feeder 40 at one edge 42, and the outer conductor of the-feeder is connected to the cylinder 22. A number of counterpoise elements 16 are secured to the metal disc 14.
