1313764 Printing yarns SINGER CO (UK) Ltd 24 Nov 1970 [9 Dec 1969] 59968/69 Heading B6C [Also in Division D1] A pattern is applied to a sheet of yarns 16, which may later be used in the production of tufted carpeting, by passing each yarn 16 through a separable nip, applying colour to the yarn at or upstream of the nip in such an amount that a body of unabsorbed colour forms upstream of the nip, and separating the nip so that the body of colour is deposited on the yarn to form a more intense end to the length of yarn printed with the particular colour. The nip may be formed by two rollers 11, 12, and the lower roller 11 may run in a colour trough 13, so that it applies colour to the nip.
