1311560 Imitation leather GUSTAV ERNSTMEIER KG 27 Nov 1970 56495/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B4 and B5] An imitation leather permeable to steam and air is made by puncturing a textile which is coated on one side with a continuous thermoplastic material with needles to form conical holes, the puncturing being effected on the uncoated face of the textile and the tips of the needles being caused to only just penetrate the exposed surface of the thermoplastic material and thereby produce microscopic holes in the surface. A needle bar or roller having needle tips heated to 150 to 200‹C may be used.
