Abstract

The process to apply a crimping effect to thermoplastic yarns of polyamide, nylon-66, polyesters, polyacryl nitriles, polypropylenes or triacetates, uses paired rollers for the yarns to pass between, where one roller has a hard heated and groove surface, while the other roller is smooth and hard. The rollers apply to localised embossing effect on the yarns passing between them, without incurring excessive roller wear.
