Abstract

1312526 Liquid fuel dispensing nozzles SUN OIL CO 16 July 1970 [22 July 1969] 34472/70 Heading A4T [Also in Division B8] A liquid fuel dispensing nozzle has an elastomeric bellows 8 surrounding the upper end of spout 4 and sealed to the body 1 of the nozzle e.g. directly or by impact absorbing rubber cover 7, and having at its other end an annular sealing member 11 spaced from the spout which seals against the outer end of vehicle fill-pipe 5 when the spout is inserted therein, vapour from the fill pipe passing through the annular seal into the bellows from which it is withdrawn via pipe 10. The sealing member is formed by outer and inner annular ferromagnetic pole-pieces 14, 12, and an intermediate element 13 of magnetic rubberlike material containing imbedded magnetic particles whereby the sealing element 13 is magnetically attached to the outer end of the ferromagnetic fill-pipe.
