Abstract

1302621 Pressurized dispensing containers GILLETTE CO 10 Feb 1970 [14 Feb 1969] 6319/70 Heading F1R A valve assembly 17 for a pressurized dispensing container includes a valve stem 22, having upper and lower passages 24, 27 having ports 38, 40 respectively and separated by a wall 28, disposed within a flexible sealing member 45 having a skirt portion 63 preventing flow between the ports 38, 40. Operation of the stem 22 either by axial movement or tilt movement causes flange 30 to deform the sealing member to cause it to distort and allow flow between the ports. The periphery of the stem around port 40 is provided with an annular channel 42 and an axially extending notch 43 from port 40 is provided to keep the port in communication with the gas charge above the material in the container to allow mixing of the material with gas charge when port 40 is uncovered, The container may be filled through or around the stem at a pressure which will raise the skirt 65.
