Abstract

1,045,254. Filling containers. R. H. ABPLANALP. May 14, 1964 [May 29, 1963], No. 20148/64. Heading B8T. [Also in Division F1] A pressurized dispensing container valve permitting rapid charging of the container with liquefied propellant comprises a valve member 6 having apertures 11 controlled by a resilient sealing disc 12, propellant entering the valve housing through apertures 24 when sealing disc 12 is moved away from the valve stem by the filling pressure, eg. 800 p.s.i., in a filling head 26. The valve-operating button has a rib 17 for sealing against the container when the filling head is applied, flow passages 16 being provided in the button for the propellant. In the Fig. 5 embodiment (not shown), the container is filled without the button in position, the filling head having a seal 33 engaging the container, and ribs 36 providing flow passages between the head and valve stem. Valves 28 and 35 are provided in the filling heads.
