Abstract

1,197,248. Dispensing liquids under gaseous pressure. SCOVILL MFG. CO. Oct. 21, 1968 [Oct. 23, 1967], No.49925/68. Heading F1R. An actuator for a tilt-type aerosol dispensing container value comprises a one piece elastomeric moulding with a spout 42 fitting over the valve stem 27, a flexible annular web portion 48, 50, 52, and a mounting portion 54 which fits over the valve cup rim 14 and has a rib 56 engaging beneath the rim to retain the actuator in position, web 48, 50 52 permitting tilting movement of spout 42 to unseat valve member 30. Clearance may be provided between spout 42 and valve stem 27, as shown, or the spout may be a sealing fit on the stem with annular ribs formed in the spout cavity to improve the seal, Fig. 4 (not shown). A head member with a lateral dispensing outlet may be mounted on spout 42 with an interlocking rib and groove connection, Fig. 3 (not shown).
