Abstract

1,123,889. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. GILLETTE CO. May 16, 1967 [May 20, 1966], No.22586/67. Heading F1R. A protective cap for a pressurised dispensing container 12, Fig. 2, comprises a top portion 28 with depending skirts 24, 26, the skirt 26 having axial slots 38, Fig. 6, and a continuous rib 40 which can be snapped over the valve cup lip 19 to hold the cap in position, the lower surface of rib 40 being inclined to provide a camming action. The cap has a key 23 engaging an axial keyway in the valve actuating button 22. Recesses 32 and 34 in the cap's upper surface serve to direct the spray and to receive a finger for operating button 22. The cap may be of polystyrene or polypropylene.
