Abstract

[Also in Division Fl] An actuator spray head suitable for use with a pressurized can (10), Fig. 1 (not shown) or a non-pressurized can (50) containing a pump (60), Fig. 6 (not shown) comprises a body portion formed by concentric skirts 18b, 20b connected by a top wall 38b, an actuator button 24b, and a generally U-shaped flexible plastics strip 28b which is connected to the button by webs 34b and to the body portion by staggered webs 32b. The whole head is an integral moulding of a plastics material such as linear polyethylene whereby the button may be depressed vertically to actuate a valve or a pump. A duct within the button communicates with a nozzle member 46b supported by the button. The body portion is shaped at 62b to provide an outlet for the discharge from the nozzle 46b. The body portion may be provided with only a single skirt (56), Fig. 6 (not shown). Figs. 3 and 7 (not shown) depict embodiments in which the button, which may be oval, circular, or rectangular in plan view, is connected to the body portion by two generally U-shaped strips which are interconnected by webs staggered with respect to the other webs. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,051,551.
