Abstract

1,262,247. Pressurized dispensing containers. SCOVILL MFG CO. April 1, 1970 [April 1, 1969j, No. 15399/70. Heading F1R. An integrally moulded cap and valve actuator for an aerosol dispensing container comprises a cap having a planar top wall 18 and an annular wall 9, being adapted to seat on the rim 7 of the container. A slit 31 in the top and which extends downwardly into the annular wall defines a tongue 14 which lies flush with the top 18 and is depressable downwardly. The tongue has an actuater button 11 attached to its end centrally of the cap the button having a bore 12 adapted to engage the valve stem 8 of the container. The outlet 13 of the bore 12 is aligned with a hole 23 in the side wall of the cap. The valve is preferably tilt-operated. A reinforcement 17 may be provided for the tongue. The cap may be indented in the region of the hole 23.
