Abstract

1303355 Pressurized dispensing containers SCOVILL MFG CO 2 March 1970 [17 March 1969] 9847/70 Heading F1R In a cap and actuator button assembly for a pressurized container the button 18 before assembly to the container is releasably held within the cap, and is orientated in a predetermined direction within an oversize aperture 19, which aperture allows lateral movement of the button and thus tilting of the container's valve. The button before assembly may be held by frictional contact between the button 18 and a depending cylindrical wall or by a deformable bead around the bottom of the wall structure. After assembly downward force on the button 18 causes it to seat on a stem 11. The button is orientated within the aperture 19 between two pedestal portions 14, (15), by an upstanding ridge 33 engaging an axial groove in the wall structure. A lip portion 29 ensures tilting of the valve in one direction only.
