Abstract

1298111 Pressurized dispensing containers V WASSILIEFF 13 Jan 1970 [24 Jan 1969 16 Sept 1969] 1672/70 Heading F1R [Also in Division B8] A tamper proof closure for a pressurized dispensing can comprises a cap adapted to be attached to an intermediate element (1), Fig.1 (not shown), which is attached to the can, (see Division B8). The cap may be retained against the intermediate element by a tamper proof strip 14, Fig.3 so that on removal of the strip 14, the cap is free to be depressed downwards. The cap itself is provided with an exit channel 11 for the spray jet 12. Pressure on the top of the can operates the dispensing valve. In a second embodiment the valve may be operated by means of a deformable section of the cap 15, Fig.7. This section may be released for depression to actuate the valve by removing tamper proof strip 7. The cap may be free to rotate and projections (19) Figs.9,10 (not shown) may be provided on the end of the portion 18 of the cap to prevent accidental actuation of the cap. In a third embodiment Fig.20 a part 123 of the top of the can is prevented from downwards hinging to actuate the aerosol valve by engaging fins 132 on a stub rod 120. As shown, the top is free to move downwards and the rod may be rotated to this position by a knob 133 which before use, is held by a tamper proof strip (134) Fig.2 (not shown)to the side of the cap.
