Abstract
1311381 Coating with metal by hot pressing MODRANSKE STROJIRNY NARODNI PODNIK 28 May 1971,[29 May 1970] 17766/71 Heading C7D [Also in Division H5] A hot pressed wear resistant metal coating is formed on an article 1, e.g. a valve seat, by electric induction heating of the metal powder 3 and the surface to be coated, by an induction coil 5 surrounding the article and pressing with punch 4 while introducing an inert gas e.g. argon via 6. The heating is concentrated at the coating surface by transformer laminations 8 mounted in the Cu coil which is hollow and water cooled via 7. The powder coating may be a Co alloy and the pressing temperature is preferably above 600‹ C e.g. 900‹ C.
