930,387. Coating with metals. ARMCO STEEL CORPORATION. Sept. 19, 1960, No. 32170/60. Class 82. A steel body is coated with zinc containing 0.001-0.35% aluminium and then heated, from within, to 860-950‹ F. for a time sufficient to permit iron to diffuse to the outer surface of the coating. As shown, steel strip 12 is coated in molten zinc alloy 11 and then heated by inductive loop 15. Heating may alternatively be effected by electric resistance. The final coating preferably contains 8-12% iron.
