Abstract
1,249,493. Sintered metal coatings. GLYCO-METALL-WERKE DAELEN & LOOS G.m.b.H. Oct. 16, 1968 [Nov. 2, 1967], No. 48984/68. Heading C7D. A continuous process of sintering metal powder on to a metal strip in which the powder coated strip is preheated to at least 300‹ C. in an oxidizing atmosphere at a rate at least twice the heating rate used in the subsequent sintering in a reducing atmosphere. As shown in the Figure, Cu based metal powder 3 is sprinkled on to steel strip 1 and preheated in open induction coil 4 at a heating rate of 15‹ C. /second up to at least 300‹ C. Sintering is effected in furnace 6 at 1000-1200‹C. at a heating rate of 5‹C. /second.
