Abstract
1310600 Electrophotographic element KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 31 Dec 1970 62025/70 Heading H1K An electrophotographic element comprising in order an insulating support, a metal layer, a non-semiconductive intermediate layer and a photoconductive layer comprising zinc oxide or an organic photoconductor wherein the sum of the volume resistivity of the intermediate and the photoconductive layer is from 10<SP>11</SP> to 10<SP>14</SP> ohm cm. and the volume resistivity of the intermediate layer is from 10<SP>6</SP> to 10<SP>10</SP> ohm cm. The insulating substrate may be a polyester film or paper optionally coated on one or both sides with polyethylene, polyester or cellulose triacetate. The metal layer may be a thin film of Al, Cu, Ag, Zn or Pb adhered or evaporated on to the substrate. The intermediate layer may be copoly vinyl ether-maleic anhydride esterified with methanol and butanol, or casein optionally mixed with copoly acrylonitrilebutadiene and clay. The intermediate layer may be coated with polyvinyl carbazole or ZnO in silicone varnish and ethyl cellulose and sensitized with Rose Bengal.
