Abstract

1301061 Apparatus for treating thread G FORTI 16 April 1971 9634/71 Heading D1F An apparatus for treating thread comprises a stretching section, a texturisation section in which false twist is applied to the thread and means for moving threadthrough said sections, said means including a first entraining roller assembly for feeding thread to the stretching section, a second entraining roller assembly for drawing thread from the stretching section and feeding thread to the texturization section and a third entraining roller assembly for extracting thread from the texturization section, the second roller assembly forming the end of the stretching, section and the beginning of said texturisation section in which each of the entraining roller assemblies ineludes an entraining roller and means 'for applying pressure to the thread over a part of the periphery of said roller. The pressure applying means preferably comprises an endless belt positioned adjacent a roller. A suitable apparatus is shown in Fig. 2 wherein thread is passed from a bobbin b to a stretching section a comprising a heating chamber 9, then to a texturising section c comprising a heating chamber 10 and spindle 11 and then optionally to a further treating i.e. setting section d and on to bobbin 2, via the entraining roller assemblies e. These assemblies comprise a revolving presser means in the form of an endless belt 4 contacting part of the periphery of roller 3.
