Abstract
423,211. Stapling artificial fibres. BLASCHKE, E., 7, Gaswerkstrasse, Tegel, Berlin. Dec. 20, 1933, No. 35807. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1932. [Class 120 (iii)] Staple fibres are prepared from artificial filaments continuously with production by combining the filaments into a thick rope, conveying the rope to a cutting machine, and subjecting the staple fibres to subsequent treatments and drying in a continuous sequence. The filaments may be conveyed from the jets to the cutting machine by rollers or thread guides, and a conveyer band, and from the cutting machine into the apparatus for subsequent treatment by a current of water ; drying is effected in a hydro-extractor with a hot air blast. The final product is a felted mass of lightly crimped fibres.
