Abstract

528,277. Artificial fibres. RHEINISCHE ZELLWOLLE AKT.-GES., and STUHLMANN, H. C. May 2, 1939, No. 13134. [Class 2 (ii)] Synthetic fibres are subjected to a selective course of after-treatment, according to the use to be made of the fibres, during their passage through apparatus consisting of cutters, loosening devices and liquid sprays. In the production of a cellulose wool for the wool industry, the fibre band B from the spinning nozzles passes through the cutting machine S<SP>1</SP>. The cut material passes through the loosening device R<SP>1</SP>, and then while still acid passes in the form of fleece between the squeezing rollers W<SP>1</SP> to the permeable conveyer belt T<SP>1</SP> beneath the sprayers D<SP>1</SP>. It then passes on a belt T<SP>2</SP> beneath sprayers D<SP>2</SP> and between rollers W<SP>3</SP> to the drying chest by means of belts T<SP>4</SP>, T<SP>5</SP>. When the production is for the cotton industry the fibre band from the spinning nozzles is passed over rollers U, F<SP>1</SP> to the belt T<SP>1</SP>. It is sprayed and passed between the pairs of rollers W<SP>3</SP>, F<SP>2</SP> to the cutter S<SP>2</SP> where it is cut to staple. It then passes to the loosening device R<SP>2</SP> and is deposited as a fleece on the belt T<SP>3</SP> from whence it passes to the drying chest.
