Abstract
1299500 Textured composite yarn A RATTI 28 Aug 1970 [8 Oct 1969] 41433/70 Headings D1F and D1W A texturised composite yarn is characterised in that it comprises raw silk yarns and thermoplastic yarns e.g. polyamide or polyester yarns, which have been conjointly subjected to texturisation in a texturing device, and have been heated to stabilize the texturization. The percentage by weight of raw silk yarn varies from 30% to 80%, preferably 50%, the balance being the thermoplastic yarn. The heating may be effected before, during or after texturisation. The yarns may be fed to two discrete feeders from which they are fed conjointly to the texturising device. The yarns are preferably overfed to the texturising device, with the silk overfeed being greater than that of the thermoplastic yarn. Examples of texturising devices include, false-twist spindles; gear crimpers; stuffer box crimpers; and knit-deknit crimpers.
