Abstract

1298989 Treating textiles HEBERLEIN & CO AG 23 March 1970 [31 March 1969] 13847/70 Heading D1L Apparatus for the treatment of textiles with liquids, vapours or gases comprises a drum 19 with a perforated jacket 19', mounted in a housing, rotatable about an axially disposed hollow shaft 18 connected to a vessel 1 containing the treatment medium by a pipe system 8 for the supply and return of said treatment medium, said drum having a chamber 25 connected to, and coaxial with, said shaft, said chamber having a plurality of channels extending outwardly from its surface to convey said treatment medium to the perforated jacket when the drum is rotated. Treatment medium is supplied to shaft 18 via pipe 8, and as the drum 19 rotates it acts as a centrifugal pump and draws the treatment medium through the channels 36, 37, 38, 39 to the perforated jacket 19' and into a roll of material to be treated 21. The treatment medium is drawn through the roll 21 by an evacuation effect caused by the porous roll 21, and unabsorbed medium is centrifuged from the roll 21 into a chamber 22 and flows back into housing 1 by way of a return pipe 10.
