Abstract

1297995 Treating grain with air or gas COMPAGNIE PARISIENNE D'OUTILLAGE A AIR COMPRIME 4 March 1970 [5 March 1969] 10516/70 Heading A2Q [Also in Division B8] An aerator for pulverulent materials in a silo or hopper comprises a base 2 having a central attachment 5 for a conduit for air or other gas under pressure and for delivering the air or gas substantially parallel to the base 2, and a perforated or porous diffuser 6 fixed to the base. The base 2 includes segments 3, 4. Alternatively, the base may be circular. The aerator components are preferably moulded and may be made of plastics e.g. polyethylene or polytetrafluoroethylene, bronze or stainless steel. The base 2 may be flexible to enable its attachment to a cylindrical or conical silo wall, and the attachment 5 may form an exteriorly threaded tube for securing the aerator to such a wall. The diffuser 6 is welded, stuck or clipped to the base 2.
