A device for aerating material at the base outlet 1 of a bulk storage hopper comprises an upwardly directed air inlet pipe 2 having its end covered by a conical baffle 7 with its apex directed upwardly. The baffle 7 is attached to the pipe 2 by radial vanes 6. The pipe 2 is strengthened by attachment brackets 3. The device may be used in portable bulk storage containers of Specification 994,182.
