1297159 Electrostatic copier OPTO/GRAPHICS Inc 15 Nov 1969 56031/69 Heading G2H In an electrostatic copier especially for books, copy sheets are delivered immediately adjacent the book. Copy sheets 72 are fed from a drawer 54 having a supporting plate 62 urged upwardly by spring 66 so that the top sheet contacts feed roller 74 which when actuated feeds the top sheet through charging device 78 to feed rollers 80, 82 and micro-switch 100 which it contacts to deactivate feed roller 74. Perforated belt 92 upon which the sheet is held by suction moves the sheet to imaging station 52 whereupon micro-switch 102 is contacted by the top edge of the sheet to stop the belt during exposure. After a time determined by control unit 146 the sheet is fed through rollers 84, 86, past developing station 114 where the sheet contacts, on one face only, liquid pumped through perforated mesh 116 before being dried by the heat from an exposure lamp 46 and passed to receiving tray 16. The original, in the form of a book, is supported on a transparent plate 18 and an angled plate 28, a ridge 30 being provided to engage the central crease of the book.
