Abstract
1296384 Boilers H VIESSMANN 26 Nov 1969 [28 Nov 1968 28 Aug 1969] 57941/69 Heading F4A A boiler fired by oil or gas, comprises a combination chamber 1, Fig. 5, flues 4 and passageway 3 to lead combustion gases as a deflection flame, deflected from the end of the chamber 1 remote from the burner end, from the chamber 1 towards the burner end at substantially the level of or higher than the flues 4 for passage therethrough, Fig. 6. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the combustion chamber 1, which includes a burner 2, and the passageways 3 are curved to match a boiler of circular cross-section. The number of passageways 3 and flues 4 and their relative positions can be varied to produce boilers of different capacities Figs. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 (not shown). In Fig. 8 a meter containing member (9) is connected between lower and upper chambers (12) and (13) respectively. Water cooled members 8, Fig. 6, reduce thermal stressing in the front wall of the housing which has a cleaning aperture 7.
