1318058 Deflected flame boilers H VIESSMANN 6 Aug 1970 [6 Aug 1969] 38022/70 Heading F4A A boiler has a horizontally extending combustion chamber 1 of oval cross-section in which combustion gases from a central flame return on either side of the flame to the burner end where they enter flues 3 which lie parallel to the axis of the combustion chamber. The burner (not shown) is mounted in an aperture 5 in a wall 4 which is water-cooled in the region corresponding to the cross-section of the combustion chamber. The remainder of the wall 4 may carry ports or doors to give access for cleaning the flues 3.
