Abstract
1296195 Two-part couplings H BAUR 19 Jan 1970 [17 Jan 1969] 2473/70 Heading H2E In a spark plug connector comprising a hollow conducting cylinder 15 with a socket contact 13 connected via a choke R to a spiked cable connecting member 14 and surrounded by a tubular insulator 12 of plastics material encased in an electrically conducting shell 16, the cylinder 15 and the shell 16 act as the electrodes, and the insulator 12 as the dielectric of a capacitor whose capacitance increases with temperature and which in use is shunted across the spark gap of the spark plug. The shell 16 may be metal sheet, closely coiled spring, metal mesh or an electrically conducting electro-deposited coating. The plastics material is of the phenoliccresolic type. The choke R bears against the connecting member 14 through a spring 17 which absorbs longitudinal expansion. The member 14 is insulated from the cylinder by a sleeve 18. In a further embodiment the connector is L- shaped. Fig. 3 (not shown).
